For the second year running immerse yourself in a combination of yoga and culture with this retreat in Beitou, Taiwan. Starting with Yoga in Beitou including mouth-watering local food, city sights and daily thermal hot springs. Fly to Penghu Island for two days of swimming, hiking and snorkelling and more yoga. We will then finish with two days of exploring central Taipei, one of Asia’s most underrated, fun, exciting and vibrant cities.
In addition to a dynamic and restorative Yoga program designed for you in the 200sqm space at the Light of Yoga studio in Taipei Taiwan. Hasu and Simon will lead classes in this space run by Tony who was trained by Simon and has opened enthusiastically the first Iyengar yoga centre in Taiwan to continue on the work in this method. We are also joined by Tonys husband Simon who is a knowledgable, fun tour guide with lots of local knowledge and fun facts at hand.
Come and experience the surprise that Taiwan has to offer with friends of and from Marrickville Yoga centre.

When is the retreat?
The retreat is for 10 nights commencing on Friday the 11th of April 2025 and finishing Sunday the 20th of April 2025. This includes the days of travel either side.

What are the highlights of the Program?
5 day immersive Yoga program tailor made by Simon & Hasu held at Light of Yoga in Beitou, Taiwan.
5 days of the hot springs bathing.
Amazing of local delights – eat like a local – in Beitou Local Market and beyond!
2 days of swimming, snorkelling, paddle boarding, hiking and some more yoga on beautiful Penghu Island.
Final 2 days are all about eating, shopping and exploring exciting Taipei. This was an unexpected highlight of last years trip.

What’s included?
Twin share 3 star accommodation at the Sweetme Hotel in Beitou, Taipei, Taiwan.
Flights and transfers to and from Penghu Island.
Twin share 3 star accomodation Penghu Island.
Twin share 3 star accommodation in central Taipei.
Meals as indicated in the retreat schedule provided below.
Accommodation can also be single share at an additional cost.
Please note: we can only guarantee the twin share price if there are people willing to share.

What do you need to organise?
Return Airfares to and from Taipei, Taiwan.
Transfers from and to Taipei Airport.
Travel Insurance.
Ad-hoc meals and additional itineraries outside of what we have planned.

How much yoga experience do I need to attend?
The retreat is open to all students at MYC. Other Iyengar Yoga practitioners and teachers outside of MYC are also welcome to participate. If you are not sure if you have enough yoga experience, please email us at info@marrickvilleyoga.com.au.

Can I arrive early and depart later?
Yes, you can but please do make sure you arrive in Beitou to check in with everyone at the hotel on 11th of April.
You are welcome to extend your stay in Taiwan and that will be for you to organise seperately.

Do I need to bring Yoga equipment or props?
Light of Yoga studio is a fully equipped studio, so you do not need to bring any yoga equipment or props with you.
Be sure to pack your yoga bloomers and other appropriate yoga attire.
Taiwan is warm at this time of year, shorts and a t-shirt during the day and a warmer layer for the evenings.

How much does the Retreat cost?
$ 3700 Twin Share.
$4500 Single room. Please note: that for the two nights on Penghu Island the accomodation is twin share. If this is a concern for you please reach out to discuss.
$500 Non refundable deposit to hold your place. You will be notified when the balance is due.
